Gold and the Miners are approaching potential cycle turns through different technical structures. The next price signals should tell us whether that developing alignment is meaningful.
Gold and the Miners are presenting an interesting example of how two related markets can arrive at a similar cycle position through very different structures.
Gold’s previously labeled Day 43 DCL has been challenged. As Gold continues to form a triangle consolidation, as discussed in the Weekend Report, the potential cycle low may be migrating toward the apex. Friday’s swing low raises the possibility that Thursday marked a Day 49 DCL, but confirmation remains outstanding.
The Miners have followed a different path. Their Daily cycle decline extended through Day 48 before finding support near the converging 50-day and 200-day moving averages. The Miners then formed a swing low on Friday.
There is also a Weekly-cycle component developing. The Miners have retraced to their rising 10-week MA during Week 10 of the Intermediate cycle. A weekly swing low above the 10-week MA would indicate continuation of the Weekly uptrend and have us label Week 10 as a half-cycle low.
That leaves us with an interesting alignment.
Different structures. Common cycle timing. Developing alignment. Price still decides.
Gold needs to provide the price evidence for its potential migrated DCL. The Miners need to confirm their potential Day 48 DCL, while a Weekly swing low would add evidence that Week 10 formed a half-cycle low.
The cycle framework tells us where to look. The subsequent price behavior tells us whether the interpretation deserves our confidence.

Precious Metals: Daily-cycle timing is aligned while the Miners are also testing an important Weekly-cycle support area.
