Where Are the Opportunities?

Pre-Summary

Earlier today I looked at the developing cycle structure in Gold. But Gold is only one of several markets presenting an interesting setup this weekend.

That raises a broader question:

Where should we be looking?

Commentary

Each weekend I review multiple markets across several timeframes. The objective is not simply to determine whether a market is bullish or bearish.

The more useful question is where the cycle structure may be creating an opportunity.

This week I am experimenting with a simple way of looking at that question.

Weekend Opportunity Board

READY means the cycle structure is presenting an opportunity.

TRIGGER READY means the structure is attractive, but price confirmation remains outstanding.

WATCH means evidence is developing.

PASS means there is currently no compelling setup.

Oil ranks first because its Daily, Weekly and Monthly trends remain aligned higher following the recent breakout. But being the strongest market does not necessarily make it the best entry.

Stocks provide a good example.

Stocks printed their lowest point on day 30, placing them in their timing band for a DCL, and formed a swing low on Friday. A close above the 10 day MA will have us label day 30 as the DCL.

That could make Stocks more attractive from an entry perspective even though Oil currently has the stronger structure.

Best market does not always mean best entry.

The Opportunity Board is not intended to predict which market will perform best next week. Nor does it tell us how an opportunity should be traded.

It simply uses cycle structure to narrow the field.

Cycle Analysis → Direction → Trigger → Opportunity

Then we allow price to provide the evidence.

Current Framework

Focus: Oil, Stocks and Gold
Developing: Dollar and Miners
Pass: Bonds
Next Trigger: Watch whether Stocks and Gold confirm their potential daily cycle lows.
